Commercial Construction Rancho Cordova, CA

Rancho Cordova Community Food Hub

Project Overview

Build Type: Commercial Renovation

Completion: 2026

Scope: Full rehabilitation and renovation of a 50-year-old building; structural and systems upgrades; complete interior and exterior transformation; design-build coordination for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

The Rancho Cordova Community Food Hub was a transformative project that reimagined a long-neglected, abandoned building into a vibrant, welcoming resource for the greater Sacramento region. What was once an overlooked structure has been thoughtfully revitalized to serve thousands of individuals and families in need.

This first-of-its-kind facility was designed to provide a dignified, grocery-style shopping experience—empowering visitors to select food just as they would in a traditional market. The design prioritizes accessibility, efficiency, and warmth, creating an environment that feels both functional and inviting.

The Build

A true collaboration in design and construction, the project was led by Tankersley Build Co, who guided the preconstruction and design process while maintaining a focused nine-month build timeline. Leveraging a design-build approach, key trades—including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing—were seamlessly integrated to ensure efficiency, quality, and cohesion throughout the project.

The result

The result is more than a renovation—it is a renewed community asset that reflects innovation, compassion, and the power of purposeful design.
